ASSESSMENT OF AVAILABILITY AND ADEQUACY OF RESOURCES FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP STUDIES IN UNIVERSITIES IN SOUTHEAST, NIGERIA.
Abstract:
Entrepreneurship education plays a crucial role in fostering economic growth and development by equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to start and manage successful businesses. This study aims to assess the availability and adequacy of resources for entrepreneurship studies in universities located in the Southeast region of Nigeria.
The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques. A survey questionnaire will be administered to students, faculty members, and administrators in selected universities to gather information on the availability and utilization of resources for entrepreneurship education. Additionally, interviews and focus group discussions will be conducted to gain deeper insights into the perspectives and experiences of stakeholders.
The study will focus on assessing various resource categories, including physical infrastructure, libraries, technology, funding opportunities, mentorship programs, and industry collaborations. The data collected will be analyzed using statistical techniques, such as descriptive statistics, to examine the availability and adequacy of resources. Qualitative data will be thematically analyzed to identify emerging patterns and themes.
The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the current state of resources for entrepreneurship studies in universities in Southeast, Nigeria. The results will be beneficial for policymakers, university administrators, and educators in identifying areas that require improvement and developing strategies to enhance the quality of entrepreneurship education. Moreover, the study aims to contribute to the existing literature on entrepreneurship education in Nigeria by providing empirical evidence on the availability and adequacy of resources in the specific context of the Southeast region.
The assessment of resources for entrepreneurship studies is essential for nurturing a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and fostering economic development in the region. It is anticipated that the study’s outcomes will inform policy decisions, resource allocation, and curriculum development initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship education in universities in Southeast, Nigeria.
