Abstract:
This study aims to assess the perceived impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on children’s learning outcomes in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, Lagos State. With the rapid advancement of technology, ICT has become an integral part of educational systems worldwide. However, its effectiveness in enhancing learning outcomes among children remains a subject of debate and requires empirical investigation.

The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. The target population consists of primary and secondary school students, teachers, parents, and educational administrators within Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government. A stratified random sampling technique will be used to select participants from various schools within the area.

Quantitative data will be collected using structured questionnaires, focusing on the frequency and extent of ICT usage, perceived benefits, and the correlation between ICT usage and academic performance. Qualitative data will be obtained through in-depth interviews, allowing participants to express their perspectives and experiences regarding the impact of ICT on children’s learning outcomes.

Data analysis will involve descriptive statistics, such as frequencies and percentages, to summarize quantitative findings. Additionally, qualitative data will be analyzed through thematic coding to identify recurring patterns and themes. The integration of both quantitative and qualitative findings will provide a comprehensive understanding of the perceived impact of ICT on children’s learning outcomes.

The study’s findings are expected to contribute to the existing literature on ICT and education by shedding light on the specific factors that influence children’s learning outcomes in the context of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government. Moreover, the results will inform educational policymakers, school administrators, and teachers about the potential benefits and challenges associated with integrating ICT into the learning process.

Overall, this research aims to provide valuable insights into the perceived impact of ICT on children’s learning outcomes and highlight the potential implications for educational practices in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, Lagos State.
