Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the perceived use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) by biology teachers for instructional activities in secondary schools in Nigeria. As technology continues to advance, it is crucial to explore its integration into the educational context, particularly in science subjects such as biology. The study employs a quantitative research design, utilizing a survey questionnaire as the data collection instrument. The participants of the study consist of biology teachers from various secondary schools located across Nigeria.

The questionnaire includes items that measure biology teachers’ perceptions of the use of ICT for instructional activities, such as lesson preparation, content delivery, student engagement, and assessment. Additionally, the survey explores the challenges faced by biology teachers in implementing ICT in their teaching practices. The collected data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential techniques to gain insights into the perceived level of ICT integration and identify significant factors influencing its adoption.

The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on ICT integration in Nigerian secondary schools, specifically within the biology discipline. It is anticipated that the results will provide a comprehensive understanding of biology teachers’ perceptions, attitudes, and challenges related to the incorporation of ICT in instructional activities. Such insights will facilitate the development of appropriate strategies and interventions to enhance the effective use of ICT in biology classrooms, ultimately promoting students’ learning outcomes.
