Abstract:
This abstract examines the challenges associated with the integration of a mixed-use development facility in Aroma Axis, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. The case study highlights the serious neglect of urban development attention and poor zoning of settlements, which have negatively impacted the successful establishment and operation of the facility.
The integration of mixed-use development is a crucial aspect of urban planning, aiming to create vibrant, sustainable, and livable communities. However, the Aroma Axis in Awka, Anambra State, presents a prime example of inadequate urban planning and zoning practices. The neglect of urban development attention has resulted in the absence of proper infrastructure, inadequate transportation systems, and a lack of public amenities in the area.
Furthermore, the poor zoning of settlements has further compounded the challenges faced in integrating the mixed-use development facility. Inadequate land-use planning and zoning regulations have led to the haphazard placement of residential, commercial, and industrial activities, resulting in conflicts, congestion, and a lack of coherence in the urban fabric.
