Abstract:
This study aims to evaluate the extent of policy implementation strategies on trade and entrepreneurship education and its impact on the acquisition of employability skills among secondary school students in Delta State. The development of employability skills is crucial in preparing students for the job market and fostering economic growth and development.
The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. A sample of secondary school students, teachers, policymakers, and industry experts will be selected to gather data on the implementation strategies and their effectiveness. The survey will assess the awareness, availability, and utilization of trade and entrepreneurship education programs in secondary schools, as well as the perceived impact on students’ employability skills.
The qualitative interviews will provide a deeper understanding of the challenges faced in implementing the policies and strategies, as well as the potential opportunities for improvement. Key stakeholders’ perspectives, including teachers, policymakers, and industry experts, will be explored to gain insights into their experiences, perceptions, and recommendations.
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on trade and entrepreneurship education and policy implementation. It will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of current strategies and identify areas for enhancement. The research outcomes can inform policymakers, educators, and other stakeholders in Delta State and beyond, guiding them in designing and implementing more effective policies and programs to improve students’ employability skills.
The study’s significance lies in its potential to enhance secondary school students’ preparation for the job market, foster entrepreneurship, and contribute to economic growth and development in Delta State. By evaluating the extent of policy implementation strategies, this research aims to provide evidence-based recommendations for improving the quality and impact of trade and entrepreneurship education programs in secondary schools.
