Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the state of guidance and counseling services in junior secondary schools within Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The provision of effective guidance and counseling services is crucial for the overall development and well-being of students, particularly during their formative years. However, there is a need to assess the current status and effectiveness of these services to identify potential gaps and areas for improvement.
The research methodology employed in this study follows a mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. Surveys, interviews, and observation methods will be used to gather information from students, school administrators, teachers, and guidance counselors. The study will explore various aspects of guidance and counseling services, including the availability of trained professionals, the range of services provided, the utilization of counseling resources, and the overall perception of stakeholders regarding the effectiveness of these services.
The findings of this study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on guidance and counseling services in Anambra State and provide insights into the specific challenges faced by junior secondary schools within Idemili South Local Government Area. The results will help to identify areas for improvement and inform policy recommendations to enhance the quality and accessibility of guidance and counseling servicesin the region.
