Abstract:
This study aims to assess the acceptance and satisfaction of teachers and students regarding the use of computer-aided design (CAD) packages compared to conventional methods for teaching technical drawing at the secondary school level in Lagos State. The integration of CAD technology in education has gained significant attention in recent years, offering promising opportunities to enhance teaching and learning experiences in technical subjects.
The research employs a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. A sample of teachers and students from secondary schools in Lagos State will participate in the study. The quantitative data will be collected through surveys, utilizing Likert-scale items to measure teacher and student acceptance and satisfaction with CAD packages. Additionally, qualitative data will be obtained through interviews and focus group discussions to gain deeper insights into the experiences and perceptions of the participants.
The study expects to reveal valuable insights into the impact of CAD packages on teaching technical drawing in secondary schools. It will explore the advantages and disadvantages of using CAD technology compared to conventional methods, considering factors such as ease of use, engagement, learning outcomes, and overall satisfaction. The findings will inform educators, policymakers, and curriculum developers about the potential benefits and challenges associated with integrating CAD packages into the teaching of technical drawing.
The research findings are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on technology integration in education, specifically in the context of technical drawing instruction. The results will have practical implications for curriculum design, teacher training, and the allocation of resources to support the effective integration of CAD packages in secondary schools in Lagos State.
