Abstract:
In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, e-learning has emerged as a key driver of educational transformation worldwide. This abstract highlights the crucial role of educational administrators in promoting e-learning within Nigerian universities to enhance global competitiveness in the field of education.

The objective of this study is to examine the significance of educational administrators in spearheading the adoption and effective implementation of e-learning initiatives within Nigerian universities. It aims to shed light on the challenges faced by these administrators and propose strategies to overcome them.

The study adopts a qualitative research approach, combining literature review and interviews with educational administrators from various Nigerian universities. The data collected is analyzed using thematic analysis to identify common themes and patterns.

The findings indicate that educational administrators play a pivotal role in promoting e-learning by providing strategic leadership, fostering a supportive institutional culture, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources. They act as catalysts for change by advocating for policies that promote e-learning, facilitating faculty training, and engaging stakeholders in the process.

However, the study also reveals several challenges faced by educational administrators in promoting e-learning. These challenges include limited technological infrastructure, resistance to change, inadequate faculty training, and financial constraints. To address these challenges, the study suggests the need for collaborative efforts between educational administrators, government agencies, and private sector stakeholders to invest in infrastructure development, provide funding for e-learning initiatives, and create a favorable policy environment.

In conclusion, this study emphasizes the indispensable role of educational administrators in driving the adoption and successful implementation of e-learning in Nigerian universities for global competitiveness. It provides valuable insights into the challenges faced by administrators and offers recommendations to overcome them, thereby paving the way for a thriving e-learning ecosystem in Nigerian higher education institutions.
