THE ROLE OF E-LEARNING IN ENSURING THE CONTINUATION OF TRAINING IN BUSINESS TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND BEYOND IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT

This research project aims to investigate the role of e-learning in ensuring the continuation of training in business teacher education programs during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond in Nigeria. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted traditional face-to-face education globally, including teacher education programs. E-learning has emerged as a viable alternative to facilitate the continuity of training, allowing students and educators to engage in remote learning activities. This study seeks to examine the specific role of e-learning in business teacher education programs, exploring its effectiveness, challenges, and potential for sustaining teaching and learning practices in the Nigerian context.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and document analysis to collect data from business teacher education students, faculty members, and administrators. The research objectives include evaluating the effectiveness of e-learning in delivering business teacher education programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, identifying the challenges and barriers faced in its implementation, and proposing recommendations for optimizing e-learning strategies in the Nigerian context.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the role of e-learning in ensuring the continuation of training in business teacher education programs during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond in Nigeria.
