Abstract:
The discussion method is a teaching approach that encourages active participation and critical thinking among students. In the context of physical education, incorporating the discussion method can be an effective strategy for teaching health-related topics. This abstract presents a summary of a study that explores the use of the discussion method in teaching health-related topics in physical education.

The study aimed to investigate the impact of implementing the discussion method on students’ engagement, understanding, and retention of health-related concepts in physical education classes. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative measures and qualitative data collection techniques.

The participants in the study were secondary school students enrolled in physical education classes. The research intervention involved integrating structured discussions into the curriculum, focusing on topics such as nutrition, fitness, hygiene, and injury prevention. The discussions were facilitated by the physical education teacher and encouraged active participation, group collaboration, and critical thinking.

Quantitative data were collected through pre- and post-intervention assessments, measuring students’ knowledge acquisition and retention.
