ASSESSMENT OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES BY BUSINESS EDUCATION TEACHERS
ABSTRACT
This research project aims to assess the implementation of continuous assessment guidelines by business education teachers. Continuous assessment is a vital component of the educational process, providing ongoing feedback on students’ learning progress and informing instructional decisions. This study seeks to evaluate the extent to which business education teachers in a specific context adhere to continuous assessment guidelines, identify the challenges they face in implementation, and propose strategies for improving the effectiveness of continuous assessment practices.
A mixed-methods research design will be employed, combining surveys, classroom observations, and interviews to gather data from business education teachers. The research objectives include assessing the extent of implementation of continuous assessment guidelines, exploring teachers’ perceptions and experiences with continuous assessment, identifying the challenges faced in implementing the guidelines, and recommending strategies for enhancing continuous assessment practices.
The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the implementation of continuous assessment guidelines by business education teachers. The research will assess the extent to which teachers adhere to the guidelines, including aspects such as assessment frequency, variety of assessment methods, alignment with learning objectives, and timely feedback provision. It will explore teachers’ perceptions and experiences with continuous assessment, investigating their understanding of its purpose, benefits, and challenges. Additionally, the study will identify the challenges faced by teachers in implementing continuous assessment, such as time constraints, lack of training, assessment overload, and difficulties in providing meaningful feedback. Based on the findings, the research will provide recommendations for improving continuous assessment practices, including professional development opportunities, the provision of resources and support materials, and the establishment of clear assessment guidelines and procedures.
The implications of this research extend to business education teachers, educational administrators, and policymakers. The findings will provide teachers with insights into the current state of continuous assessment practices and the challenges they may encounter. Teachers can use the research recommendations to enhance their understanding of continuous assessment and implement strategies to improve its effectiveness in their classrooms.
