THE STRATEGIES FOR EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF BUSINESS TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME IN NIGERIAN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

This research project aims to explore strategies for the effective management and organization of business teacher education programmes in Nigerian Colleges of Education. Business teacher education plays a vital role in preparing future educators to teach business subjects at secondary school level. The quality of management and organization of these programmes directly impacts the preparedness and competencies of graduate teachers. This study seeks to examine the current practices, challenges, and opportunities in managing and organizing business teacher education programmes, and propose strategies for enhancing their effectiveness and relevance in meeting the demands of the education sector.

A mixed-methods research design will be employed, utilizing surveys, interviews, and document analysis to collect data from administrators, faculty members, students, and stakeholders involved in business teacher education programmes in Nigerian Colleges of Education. The research objectives include assessing the current practices in managing and organizing business teacher education programmes, identifying challenges and opportunities, and proposing strategies for enhancing their effectiveness.

The findings of this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the strategies for effective management and organization of business teacher education programmes in Nigerian Colleges of Education. The research will assess the current practices, including curriculum design, instructional methodologies, faculty development, and student support services. It will identify challenges and opportunities faced by administrators and faculty members in managing and organizing these programmes, such as limited resources, outdated curricula, and the need for industry relevance. Additionally, the study will propose strategies for enhancing the effectiveness and relevance of business teacher education programmes, considering aspects such as curriculum review, pedagogical innovations, industry collaboration, and professional development opportunities.

The implications of this research extend to administrators, faculty members, policymakers, and stakeholders involved in business teacher education in Nigerian Colleges of Education. The findings will provide administrators and faculty members with insights into the current practices and challenges, enabling them to make informed decisions and improvements in managing and organizing these programmes.
