THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF TRAINING PROGRAMS ON COGNITIVE FUNCTION AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN CHILDREN

Abstract:
The cognitive development and academic achievement of children are important factors for their overall growth and success. Various training programs have been designed to enhance cognitive function and improve academic performance in children. This abstract provides an overview of the effects of different types of training programs on cognitive function and academic achievement in children.

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of different training programs on cognitive function, such as memory, attention, problem-solving, and academic achievement in children. A comprehensive review of literature was conducted to identify relevant studies published between 2010 and 2021. The selected studies employed diverse training approaches, including computer-based training, physical exercise, mindfulness training, music training, and tutoring programs.

The findings revealed that computer-based training programs showed promising effects on cognitive function, particularly in areas such as working memory and attention. Physical exercise interventions were found to enhance cognitive function, including executive functions and information processing speed, which subsequently improved academic achievement. Mindfulness training programs demonstrated positive effects on attention, self-regulation, and stress reduction, leading to better academic performance. Music training programs were associated with enhanced cognitive abilities, including spatial-temporal skills and language processing, thereby positively impacting academic achievement. Tutoring programs focusing on specific academic subjects were found to significantly improve academic performance in those areas.

Overall, the results indicated that different types of training programs can have positive effects on cognitive function and academic achievement in children. However, it is important to consider individual differences, such as age, gender, and baseline cognitive abilities when designing and implementing these programs. Future research should explore the long-term effects of these training programs and investigate the potential synergistic effects of combining different approaches.

In conclusion, training programs targeting cognitive function and academic achievement in children have the potential to yield positive outcomes. Implementing diverse training approaches tailored to individual needs may offer a comprehensive and effective strategy to enhance cognitive function and promote academic success in children.
