INVESTIGATING THE PHYSIOLOGICAL DEMANDS OF TAEKWONDO AND ITS EFFECTS ON PERFORMANCE.

Abstract:
Taekwondo is a dynamic and high-intensity martial art and Olympic sport that requires a unique combination of physical fitness, technical skill, and mental acuity. This abstract presents a comprehensive analysis of the physiological demands of Taekwondo and explores their effects on performance outcomes.

The study aims to investigate the various physiological components engaged during Taekwondo training and competition, including cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and anaerobic power. Additionally, it aims to evaluate how these physiological demands influence performance indicators such as speed, agility, accuracy, power, and overall competitive success.

To achieve these objectives, a mixed-methods approach will be employed, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The study will involve a sample of experienced Taekwondo athletes from different skill levels and competitive backgrounds. Physiological assessments, including maximal oxygen uptake (VO2 max), muscular strength tests, flexibility measurements, and anaerobic power assessments, will be conducted. Performance indicators will be evaluated through technical analysis, competition results, and subjective assessments from athletes and coaches.

The findings of this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the physiological demands involved in Taekwondo training and competition. They will shed light on the specific physical attributes and training requirements necessary to excel in the sport. Moreover, the results may inform the development of targeted training protocols, injury prevention strategies, and talent identification processes for Taekwondo athletes.

Ultimately, this research aims to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical application in the field of Taekwondo. The outcomes of this study will provide valuable insights for coaches, trainers, and athletes seeking to optimize performance, enhance training methods, and improve overall competitiveness in the sport of Taekwondo.
