Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the psychological factors that influence shooting performance. Shooting, whether in sports such as basketball, soccer, or target shooting, requires a high level of precision, concentration, and mental control. Understanding the psychological aspects that contribute to shooting performance can provide valuable insights for athletes, coaches, and researchers seeking to enhance performance and develop effective training programs.

This review synthesizes empirical research conducted in the field of sports psychology and related disciplines to identify key psychological factors affecting shooting performance. The analysis encompasses cognitive, emotional, motivational, and psychophysiological factors, and their interplay in shaping shooting outcomes.

Cognitive factors include attentional focus, visual perception, decision-making, and anticipation skills. Effective allocation of attention, accurate perception of relevant cues, and rapid decision-making are vital for successful shooting performance. Furthermore, the ability to anticipate and predict the movements of opponents or targets can significantly impact shooting accuracy.
