RESTORATIVE JUSTICE AND VICTIM EMPOWERMENT: A CASE STUDY ANALYSIS
Abstract:
Restorative justice is an alternative approach to traditional criminal justice systems that focuses on repairing the harm caused by criminal behavior. It aims to address the needs of both the victim and the offender, emphasizing accountability, healing, and community involvement. This case study analysis explores the application of restorative justice principles in promoting victim empowerment within the criminal justice system.
The study focuses on a specific case where restorative justice practices were implemented to address a serious offense. It examines the impact of these practices on victim empowerment, which encompasses the restoration of the victim’s sense of agency, control, and well-being.
