ABSTRACT
This study examined the problems and prospects of bilingual secretaries in an organization.
People hold different opinions on the problems and prospects of bilingual secretaries.  People fail to understand that the secretary is an important officer in every organization and her condition and effectiveness can either enhance or diminish the efficiency of the organization.  The study also seek to find out whether lack of adequate training effect the roles of bilingual secretaries.  It went further to see whether bilingual secretarial profession commands more respect than most professions, whether they have more employment opportunities, their changes of advancement than most professions and mot secretaries are as a result of the individual secretary’s relationship with his job and his environment.
In collecting data, the study was designed to cover selected organization as the population through sampling of the bilingual secretaries and some other secretaries which was distributed to the respondents and was later collected.
It was recommended that training units be established there practicing bilingual secretaries, could be for training.  From time to time, adequate working equipment be provided with modern communication gadget.  Provide job enrichment  programmes, jobs enlargement and on-the-job training programme to enable secretaries achieve their expected goals because without these bilingual secretaries will not perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
Lastly, it was concluded that regular seminars, workshops and conferences should be organized for the bilingual secretaries in order to update their knowledge and experience on the secretarial profession and that the chief executives should work hand in hand with their secretaries and be able to delegate duties to them and provide enough working equipment for carrying out their duties.
